Alpujarra Adventure – Trip on Wednesday – April 23, 2025
Enjoy a lovely day out in the Alpujarras. Our first stop is in Pampaneira for coffee, breakfast, or a walk.
We will then head in the direction of Pórtugos to the Fuente Agria sour water springs at the foot of the Hermitage of the Virgen de las Angustias. We will also visit the Chorreón with its impressive reddish-colored waterfal. Those who desire can descend a steep staircase to admire this natural wonder.
Afterwards we head to Trévelez to visit a producer of jamón. They will describe the process of creating the famed jamón serrano and offer us a small snack. There will be free time for shopping before lunch.
At 1:45 we will enjoy lunch at Restaurante Nuevo Conzalez in Trévelez. First course is salad and assorted appetizers. Second course is a choice of trout or Plato Alpujarreño. Desert is natillas casera. Bread and wine or water is included.
After lunch we travel to Soportujar, “where the witches live,” a beautiful village full of fun and colorful fantasy. The tour begins at the Cueva del Ojo de la Bruja (Witch’s Eye Cave), the starting point of a curious itinerary that takes us through caves, passageways, fairytale houses, spooky spiders, snakes, magical fountains, and witch figures.
Cost
The cost for this trip is 40€ for ICS members, 45€ for non-member guests. The cost includes return coach travel from Almuñecar, Salobreña or Velez De Benaudalla, Jamon Tour and lunch at Nuevo Conzalez, Trevelez. Refunds will not be possible once our booking is confirmed with our Tour Operator Jostur Viajes on Wednesday 9 April.
