Weekly Update Eleven
Hi and welcome to this week’s Weekly Update for a run down on everything that’s going on in ICS this week and more…
This week we are looking forward to our regular Book Swap and Name Badge Prize Draw on Wednesday AND another chance to hone our Tai Chi skills with another session with George and Rose.
Thanks to everyone that came along to enjoy our trip to Granada last Tuesday. We had a great time and the event went completely to plan!
We want to thank everyone that came along on Friday to the Petanca Pitches opposite the Casa Roja and helped clear the pitches of weeds and dog poop so we could use them for our games whilst the Park Fuente pitches are being repaired.

Read on for details below…
Monday 31 March
As usual our Mah Jong Red Dragons will be getting together at Hotel Miba for more Mah Jong fun at 11 am. Newbies are always welcome to come along and see how it goes.
Our Discussion Group meets on Monday at 11am in the TV Lounge and all are welcome to come along. This week the discussion will be “Views on Education”.
On Monday afternoon at 4:30pm our Ukulele Strumblies will be back to rehersals at Bar Amigos. We have just started a fantastic new set of songs so it’s a lot of fun. If you would like to come along and try playing, just let us know in advance and we can have a uke ready for you to try. If you would like to come along and join in the singing, that is fine too. Maybe you would like to come along to enjoy the practice!
We look forward to seeing you!
Tuesday 1 April
A, B, C – Art Backgammon and Chess…
All at Hotel Salobreña Suites at 11am. This week we have arranged for the art group to be able to use a table indoors, either in the Games area next to the TV lounge or in a spare function room.
Backgammon and Chess as usual in the Bar area or terrace.
Wednesday 2 April
This week at Hotel Salobreña Suites at 11am we will be hosting our popular Book Swap and Name Badge Prize Draw in the TV Lounge. Come along with any books you have read that you would like to share with your fellow members. Drop them on the coffee table next to the bookcase in the TV lounge so they can check them out and decide whether to try them. Of course you should have a look to see if there any they others have brought in that you might like to try.

Also… remember to wear your badge and you will receive your free entry ticket into the Name Badge Prize Draw. Make sure that you have received your ticket before the draw is made at 12:30 when the winners will be announced. If you have to leave before then, just write your name on the back of your ticket and leave it with one of our committee members who will make sure you get your prize if you happen to be picked out.
Also…George and Rose will give us more Tai Chi practice on the lawn at 11.30am so do come along with something loose fitting so you can work on your chi!

Thursday 3 April
Nothing Today!
Friday 4 April
At the time of writing this we don’t think that Petancas on The Pitches will be in Park El Fuente next to Dia Super Market in Salobreña.Those pitches are being repaired so we will likely be on the two pitches opposite the Casa Roja. WE will let you know for sure what is happening. If we are opposite the Casa Roja then we are limited to 24 players so will have to coordinate exact numbers beforehand again. Wherever we are w will need to be there for 10:15am to be sure of getting allocated a team. Play starts at 10:30am. We will of course send a message out on the day if the weather is unkind and we cancel. If you would like adding to our WhatsApp Broadcast list for Petancas please do let us know.
Saturday 5 April
Day Off!
Sunday 6 April
Another Day Off!

Our committee is getting together on Wednesday and this will be on the agenda to discuss and work out a way forward. Watch this space!
Alpujarras Trip Wednesday 23 April
Just a reminder that we will be launching this trip in the next day or so. We have seen that as our membership grows, places on trips sell out quicker than they used to do so when you see the trip please book early to avoid disappointment.
Travel Sharing Reminder!
As always we would like to remind you that whenever possible, if you need help with getting to any of our activities or meetings, that you let your fellow members know – the easiest way is on our ICS Members Group Facebook page. Also of course, if you have space in your car and are attending an activity why not let your fellow members know in case they need help getting there?
